Keys In The Box - Competition

The Cash Keys in the Box Competition is a competition that is open to all ERS listeners during the Breakfast Show. Two callers get an opportunity to call in at 07:15 every morning and guess how many "keys" are in the box. The option is between 1 key in the box and a possible 5000 keys. The big prize money starts at R5000 and decreases by R100 a day.

The first Cash Keys in the Box Competition was won on the 4th of November 2009 by Hettie Westraad at an amount of R1900 after guessing the right amount of "keys in the box" which was 1235. The Breakfast team arrived at this number during the weather report and the hottest place for that day was Lephalele with a minimum temperature of 12 degrees and maximum of 35 after a listener called in and mentioned an upcoming trip to Lephalele.

The numbers that are decided by the Breakfast team as the set amount of "keys in the box" are not just random numbers but are connected to the show at that moment and are not subjected to any changes. The avid Breakfast show listener would be able to pick up on the subtle hits around the numbers chosen. Once the Jackpot prize reaches R3000, the two Breakfast show hosts start giving "HOT OR COLD "clues

The competition has generated great interest since its inception and callers often call in an hour before the competition!!!
